Sona-quest : How Sonakshi dominated everyone
Everyone is so weak. Or maybe she’s too strong. She may not be size 0 or fit a look that they associate with Bollywood actresses but sonakshi sinha was determined to make her mark . She captured the deep desire of Indian men to be overpowered and dominated by a strong woman . Not just strong but big , powerful , and still feminine. She called this sonaquest. This is a quest of how a woman captured the attention and power with just raw physical force.
It started as it does with one of the actors who was regarded as toughest and strongest. The 19 year old just got in shape with rigorous gym and diet. She lost hardly any strength. She had a slightly timid personality as she went to the sets of her first movie. Salman obviously noticed that she was pretty but as she squatted and did pottery with her arms , he did get a sense of something special. She was annoyed by his lack of professionalism and would often have to do a lot of things herself. She filled the pots with water and salman had to carry them to his car and he dropped them . They wrote that into the script. She then carried the heavy things all the way . Her danced numbers were electric but were kept on minimum. Her suits fit tight, and each hug, made salman feel the power of this young woman. When they yelled cut, she would just hold him in place teasing him. The film wrapped and salman had to go away with his unresolved feelings.
She next started rowdy rathore, playing a Bihari woman but her obvious voluptuousness and strength was played up in this movie. Her costar - also an action star akshay Kumar could feel that this woman could physically demolish him . There’s a bit in the movie where akshay chest bumps his sidekick and he falls. Behind the scenes, sonakshi chest bumped him and akshay fell. This was later written into the movie. All came to head in that one song with her saree and naughtiness unfolding. Sonakshi took full control leading the dance , holding Akshay, even lifting him up slightly. She went along with the plot of getting kidnapped but deep down the entire crew knew that Sonakshi could take all the villains single-handedly.
Moving on, the director’s fascination with her grew as she’s also a lift and carry and strong girl enthusiast. He made many movies and songs with sonakshi highlighting her thicc frame and body. Even akshay liked spending time with her as she made him feel small and weak. She went on to work with Ajay Devgan and Sanjay dutt in son of sardar where she also impressed them with her strength beating both seasoned actors in armwrestling. Ajay was also quite taken with her and took her in some future movies.
By dabangg 2, she had established her dominance on salman. Her role was also a dominant wife who would playfully overpower the cop. She was not ignored at all. She was gaining so much power. She worked on lootera and in a key scene , ranveer fell from a tree and she simply caught him in her arms. It was obviously cut from the main cut. But ranveer was so into it, he asked Deepika to dominate him later. In once upon a time again , she was casted besides a really weak Imran . It became a joke as she would basically manhandle him and akshay . One day when they were late to set , she went in and forcefully shoulder carried akshay and Imran on either shoulders to get them to shoot. This embarassed the hell out of them but they had to keep their mouth shut.
Her toughness and dominant nature got so well known that in later 3 movies : R… rajkumar, holiday , and bullet raja, her toughness and strength was overplayed in the plot. She kicked ass more ass than shahid in R… raj Kumar even beating up and lifting Sonu sood. She also took charge of her sexuality with being all wet and broad yet bold. She came out of the water all naked , out lifted and overpowered everyone on set . Her body commanded so much respect and awe. No one wanted to admit it but they were all taken by it.
In holiday, she even had boxing scenes showing she’s tough and powerful . The director of that movie had never met any man or woman as strong and capable as her.
In ittefaq, her nighty clad character schooled Sid malhotra by dominating him on and off camera. Her strong attitude and physical dominance has been an unkept secret as she keeps getting movies and songs without as much fan following. Everyone wants to spend time with her , try to figtt he her , lose , and be dominated . She has over the years lifted many named and unnamed actors - athiya shetty, Bobby deol . Etc. toughest as they come .
A well documented high five of jacquilene and Salman’s girlfriend also testify that she is the strongest woman they ever met.
Wrapping up the dabangg franchise, she not only had a scene beating people up but also lifted up tough guy sallu in title track asserting her dominance for everyone.
Sona quest is gonna continue with her as she keeps expanding her empire. Haters gonna hate but no one can deny how strong is sonakshi.
Deep down , everyone needed her.
